About Christy Hanson, LPC

Founder of Hanson Counseling

I specialize in addressing and alleviating a range of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ issues, couples' conflicts, teen therapy, and parent coaching. My practice in individual therapy is underscored by a desire to forge authentic connections, encouraging clients to cultivate self-compassion and robust relationships with those around them. I pride myself on not just navigating the field of mental health, but truly embodying the principles I teach. I hold dear each milestone along my path – from becoming a licensed professional counselor in Texas to bringing life-altering support to clients in various settings.

My professional narrative spans across both private and public sectors, including profitable and charitable establishments. With a sturdy foundation in education paired with my extensive experience in counseling, I offer clients a unique psychoeducational approach. This multidimensional perspective enriches the therapeutic alliance, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.

Beyond my counseling practice, I am avid reader and passionate about the great outdoors. Hiking, camping, and gardening are more than hobbies; they are extensions of my counseling philosophy—finding peace and growth in the natural world. With every step on a trail or seed sown in the soil, I find renewed energy and joy, qualities I bring back into every counseling session.

If you're ready to take the step towards positive change, I am here to usher you into this new chapter. Together, we can walk the path to your happiest, most holistic self.

You Matter.

My counseling philosophy is rooted in the conviction that everyone deserves to feel connected – to themselves and to their personal sense of community. My role is to quiet your inner critic and nurture a loving self-relationship. In our shared space, you will find the confidence to express yourself, savor encouragement, and reflect introspectively on how you engage with others.

With concerted efforts, we can ease anxiety and instill patterns that will enhance your interpersonal connections. Change begins with a single step, and I am prepared to help you advance confidently towards a fulfilling and healthier life.
